Danai Gurira joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe this year to portray Okoye, the fierce, proud leader of the Dora Milaje, the all-female special forces unit that protects the throne of Wakanda, in this year's Black Panther. Gurira is set to step back into the role again in Avengers: Infinity War, and she has revealed that Okoye is not overly happy to see the Avengers in Wakanda.

A significant portion of Avengers: Infinity War will take place in Wakanda, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige saying that the entire third act of the film will take place in the fictional African nation. Speaking with Collider during a set visit last year, Gurira revealed that Okoye is very cautious of the presence of the Avengers in Wakanda, and what their presence could mean for the nation.

"She’s more cautious about that," Gurira said. "She’s always thinking about how many things can go wrong and how much she can control what could go wrong before it goes wrong. But there’s not a lot of control that she can have over something that’s coming that’s this massive. But that’s where her caution is. That’s where her concerns lie."

"It’s, of course, in her gut," Gurira continued. "The vocation of being a Dora is you’re learning how to be one from quite a young age, so her entire vocation has been to maintain this nation. This is actually the biggest -- there’s another major threat they go through in the movie you will have seen by the time this comes out, but this is one of the biggest threats they’ve dealt with."
