Avengers: Infinity War may have seemed as if it united virtually every hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Ant-Man and The Wasp were missing in action. However, actors Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly insist that's only because audiences couldn't see their characters.

Lilly and Rudd were asked in an interview with NDTV where The Wasp and Ant-Man were when Thanos came calling. Rudd's first response was, "Well, it's a great question." Lilly then added, "Explain yourself, Ant-Man."

"I remember going to see Infinity War and they do mention that I was under house arrest and that I was not able to leave," Rudd said. "There's a lot going on, a lot going on."

Lilly joked that The Wasp was in the thick of the fighting, only that you might not have seen her. "For the record, I was there," she said. "I was just tiny."

When pressed again as to the whereabouts of Ant-Man, Rudd added, "Well, maybe I was too small and you just couldn't see me either. I feel like I just piggybacked on your joke there."

It should be noted that the upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp take place before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, which means the movie may very well include some kind of scene that links to the film or to Avengers 4.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and The Wasp stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, Randall Park and Walton Goggins. The film arrives in North American theaters on July 6.
