One of the great things about trailers in the internet age is the inventiveness with which some fans can edit them into something new, or overlay existing footage on trailer's audio to provide a different experience. That's precisely what the animation team of Darth Blender has done with the record-shattering trailer for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War.

In this new mashup, key moments from some of our favorite superhero cartoons of the 1990s have been used to create the ultimate crossover event we never got as kids.

It's a testament to Darth Blender's speed and efficiency that this animated version looks as great as it does less than a week after the Avengers: Infinity War trailer debuted. It uses clips from such shows as Spider-Man: The Animated Series, The Incredible Hulk and The Avengers: United They Stand to almost seamlessly build an entirely new trailer. The one drawback is that it's missing the stinger of Thor meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy, because no one back could have predicted in the mid-'90s that Rocket Raccoon would be one of the breakout characters of the 2010s.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie.
