Due to the shuttering of cinemas, Marvel Studios films seem a fond memory at this point. While we wait for life to return to normal, though, a tantalizing behind-the-scenes picture gives us another perspective on an important moment in one of Avengers: Infinity War’s early scenes.

The moody black-and-white photo, which was uploaded to Instagram by onset.unseen, shows Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts tenderly kissing in a scene shot in Piedmont Park, Atlanta. In the film, this is just moments before Doctor Strange and Bruce Banner come through a portal and warn Tony and Pepper of an imminent threat in the shape of Thanos.

This scene, particularly this moment, is close to being the film’s only instance of calm before events spiral out of control. The behind-the-scenes shot captures this and is no less effective for the camera and crew also in the shot.

While we wait for the next films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all of which are now due next year -- Black Widow in May, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in July and Eternals in November -- the new Disney+ Marvel shows will be filling the theatrical void, kicking off with WandaVision in December.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston and Josh Brolin.
