Even though Avengers: Endgame brought the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Thanos arc to a fatal close, there are still many secrets about the production of both the third and fourth Avengers movies left to be revealed.
On such tale has recently been revealed in an interview with IMDb, Spider-Man: Far From Home, when star Tom Holland discussed a crazy scene from Avengers: Infinity War that ultimately didn't make the final cut of the movie.
"There was a scene in Infinity War that actually didn’t make the edit," Holland said. "It was basically, Thanos, like, snapped his fingers or something, and all the Guardians became astral forms, and then I had to try and grab all their bodies and put them back in the astral form."
In 2016's Doctor Strange, viewers were introduced to the MCU's astral plane, a realm of existence most famously used for a dramatic sequence between Stephen Strange and one of Kaecilius' zealots as the two fought outside of their own bodies.
"At one point, they’re all lying down on the floor," Holland continued, "all the Guardians. And Karen [Gillan] fell asleep because she was so tired for being up so early all the time for the Nebula makeup."
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is in theaters now.
