Those lucky enough to be in attendance at Disney's D23 Expo or Comic-Con International in San Diego last summer were rewarded with an exclusive look Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War nearly four months before the first teaser trailer was released. While the footage was never released to the general public, descriptions from those who saw it first hand detailed a scene in which Josh Brolin's Thanos literally hurled an entire moon at Earth's helpless heroes. Now, that shot has finally been made available for all to see, albeit in photograph form, and we have new information indicating it takes place somewhere other than Earth.
"What do you do with the mad that you feel?" the description from Entertainment Weekly reads. "If you're Thanos, you use the purple and blue Infinity Stones to rip a moon out of orbit and hurl it against the ground like a dinner plate. While fans have speculated that this may be devastation on Xandar, where the Nova Corps was guarding the purple power stone from the Orb, Marvel tells EW this shot is actually on Titan, the ruined home world of Thanos."
While knowledge of the scene itself managed to trickle out of D23 and SDCC, this is our first confirmation that Thanos' home planet Titan will be in the film. In the comics, Titan was all but destroyed after Thanos and his fleet ravaged the once-peaceful planet.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L.
