The Mad Titan's conquest of the galaxy begins in Anaheim, California.
A photo from Disney's D23 Expo, which officially kicks off today, reveals Thanos in all his glory from Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War. The life-size -- or perhaps near life-size -- statue by Legacy Effects depicts the film's primary antagonist clenching his fist -- alth0ugh whether it's in victory or frustration isn't exactly clear. It's our best look yet at how Thanos appears in the film.
Josh Brolin will reprise his role as Thanos, a figure who has lurked in the shadows of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2012's The Avengers, pulling the strings of Loki, the Chitauri and Ronan the Accuser before stepping out into the open in his quest to gather the Infinity Stones. Infinity War will bring the Mad Titan into direct conflict with the Avengers and their allies, including the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War boasts a sprawling ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie. The film arrives in theaters May 4, 2018, with the untitled sequel opening May 3, 2019.
