After facing the full wrath of Thanos, Earth's Mightiest Heroes have been confronted with an even greater threat: Trolls on Twitter.

In the latest edition of celebrities reading mean tweets about themselves on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Avengers: Infinity War stars assembled to personally read online takedowns of themselves from random users.

A bemused Sebastian Stan read that he "looks like a potato," while Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch laughed off the insinuation that he looks as though he's always having "an allergic reaction to bad shrimp".

Not even the Star-Spangled Avenger was shown mercy as a good-natured Chris Evans read that, while being a "great actor" he plays Captain America "like he's a big dumb hunk of s---".

The popular recurring segment on Jimmy Kimmel of celebrities reading unflattering tweets about themselves has been a staple for the late night talk show with previous editions featuring other superhero actors including Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot and Suicide Squad's Margot Robbie on the receiving end of an online drubbing.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston, and Josh Brolin. The film is open in theaters everywhere.
