A concept art poster of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War was given away at D23 this weekend, and the artwork, by Ryan Meinerding, pays homage to the Infinity Gauntlet event series by Jim Starlin and George Perez.

Following the Marvel Studios presentation as part of the Live Action Films panel at D23 on Saturday, Thanos actor Josh Brolin took to the floor where he signed an exclusive concept art poster for fans. While Marvel never officially revealed the poster online, Marvel Studios concept artist Ryan Meinerding took to his Instagram to reveal the poster in all of its glory.

@joshbrolin is at the Marvel Studios Pavilion at @disneyd23 right now signing my poster! Pretty cool. I'll be back here at 4pm talking about the design of Thanos for Infinity War and this piece of art! #thanos #disney #d23 #marvel #conceptart #artgiveaway #villians #mcu #ryanmeinerding A post shared by Ryan Meinerding (@ryan_meinerding_art) on

The poster is a clever homage to the iconic cover for Infinity Gauntlet by Perez, where Thanos is surrounded by members of the Marvel Comics Universe, while he prepares to wreak havoc with the Infinity Gauntlet. Although Meinerding's poster sees Thanos by himself, the Mad Titan is still very much donning the same expression, while the highlights on the Infinity Stones help to create the linework displayed on the original comic cover.
