As the war against Thanos comes to a head in Avengers: Infinity War, King T'Challa makes his nation's salute, shouts "Wakanda Forever!" and leads his army in an epic charge toward the enemy. Unfortunately, before they get anywhere, a siren blares and an old-fashioned British police car intercepts them, and soon there are arrests being made.

If that's not quite the Battle of Wakanda that you remember, check out this fan-edited video, which seamlessly cuts the scene together with one that's just as iconic in its own way, from Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975).

The classic British comedy is an absurdist take on Arthurian legend, which follows the Knights of the Round Table on some low-budget misadventures that have been frequently referenced and quoted by every generation since the film was first released. The characters' quest for the Holy Grail comes to an abrupt end when some cops appear on the medieval landscape to investigate a murder, and the story wraps up without resolving any of its own plot points.

Applying this "cop-out" ending to Infinity War might have been a sly dig at everything that's been left to dangle until next year's sequel, the untitled Avengers 4. On the other hand, the similarities in the scenery may have just been irresistible.

The Avengers may have had a rough time in canon, but if anything, it's even harder to guess how they'll get out of this one. Let's hope that T'Challa knows the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow.
