Imagine if Thanos’ big goal in Avengers: Infinity War had been providing half of the universe with easily accessible, free reading materials in a stylish case -- that certainly would have been a different film. A new initiative from Disney Publishing Worldwide can’t boast that kind of universal reach, but it’s no slouch.

Disney Publishing Worldwide is teaming up with Little Free Library and First Book to bring Avengers: Infinity War-themed library stands to communities throughout the United States. The library stands will include titles such as The Heroes’ Journey (Road to Avengers: Infinity War) and The Cosmic Quest Vol. 1, among others. Visitors to the library stands are also encouraged to donate their own books.

Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that aids community members in creating small hutches that are accessible to the public and routinely stocked with books. There are more than 60,000 public book hutches throughout the world. First Book is a nonprofit that operates and book bank and a retail bookstore chain that allows low-income families to buy discounted books.

The library stands will be maintained by Little Free Library community members and will be stocked with books for two years after their debut on May 12. The library stands will be installed in nine communities throughout the United States. A full list of communities that will receive the stands can be found below, along with an example of what the stands will look like.
