With every appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark has debuted some new aspect to his ever-changing Iron Man suit, and Avengers: Infinity War will be no exception. But this time the upgrades apparently will include a formidable-looking arm cannon.
The weapon, as well as some sort of winged propulsion system, are revealed in newly surfaced merchandising art for the Marvel Studios sequel.
This new armor appears to be inspired by the one depicted in Marvel Comics' Invincible Iron Man, which could change shape in response to the wearer's needs. Presumably, Tony will need the cannon and thrusters in Infinity War to fend off the invasion by Thanos and his minions, who seek to collect the final Infinity Stones and conquer the universe.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie. The film opens May 4.
