"Avengers: Infinity War" directors Joe and Anthony Russo have already started talking about the two-part Marvel epic -- ahead of their next entry in the MCU, "Captain America: Civil War" -- saying it will feature a ton of characters we've yet to seen on screen.

"New characters are going to appear in Avengers: Infinity War," Joe told Forbes in an interview. "It's a big sprawling ambitious movie, it's about as ambitious as movies get and it should be, and the title alone indicates that there will be an incredible scape and scope to it."

Anthony added, "It is intended to be the entire culmination of the Marvel cinematic universe and, in many ways, the end to that part of it."

He then clarified, "But we don't even have the first draft in on that script yet; we're still in the outline phase. It's hard not to talk about it too specifically not only because of spoilers but also because we're still figuring it out."

Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and more, "Captain America: Civil War" opens on May 6, 2016. The first installment in the Russo's Infinity War saga, "Avengers: Infinity War - Part I," hits theaters on May 4, 2018, followed by "Avengers: Infinity War - Part II" on May 3, 2019.
