Avengers: Infinity War was expected to see a worldwide release on May 4, 2018, but a new announcement reveals the film will be released in international markets a week earlier.

The movie is expected to premiere in Australia, France, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand and Sweden on April 25. It will also open in Brazil, Germany, Greece, Hungary and Singapore on April 26 and India, Bulgaria, Japan, Spain, Turkey, the UK and Vietnam on April 27.

This practice continues Disney and Marvel's strategy of focusing on the international market in recent years. The Avengers in 2012, and Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015 both saw an international premiere a week before the US opening. Though frustrating for United States residents, it makes sense that the studio would continue this strategy; 59% of The Avengers' $1.5 billion box office total and 67.3% of Avengers: Age of Ultron's $1.4 billion total gross came from the international market.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie.
