Josh Brolin's Thanos spent most of Avengers: Infinity War collecting the Infinity Stones, but concept art for the film reveals the gauntlet he put them in could have been very different from the gold-plated glove that actually appeared in this year's superhero ensemble.

Artist Aleksi Briclot shared concept art on Instagram, which showed fans what the Infinity Gauntlet could have looked like. The Infinity Gauntlet pictured here still has room for the six stones, but apart from that, this version is almost completely different than the film's final version. Briclot's Infinity Gauntlet is a lot more rustic and has a more mechanical feel. Even Briclot emphasizes how his take was supposed to be "more organic and less medieval" than other designs. This Infinity Gauntlet looks more like an extension of Thanos than the giant golden glove he ended up wearing.

The final version of the gauntlet seen in the film ended up being fairly comics-accurate, looking as if it was pulled directly from the pages of Jim Starlin, George Pérez and Ron Lim's The Infinity Gauntlet run from 1991.
