Filming may be complete on Avengers: Infinity War, but that doesn't mean casting announcements are done. Following the news that Infinity War has cast Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Love/Hate, The Secret Agent) as Ebony Maw, IMDB has confirmed that another Black Panther cast member has joined the film: Letitia Wright's Shuri.
The news was announced by IMDB on Friday, with the site revealing that the actress would reprise her role as Shuri in Infinity War.
While IMDB isn't typically the most reliable source for casting updates, as users are able to update pages on the site, the actress quickly confirmed the news on Twitter, expressing her excitement over being a part of the project.
Blessings 🙏🏾💕 super excited to be apart of this. https://t.co/YXhApFndWV— Letitia Wright (@letitiawright) August 25, 2017
Wright is just the latest Black Panther cast member to be confirmed for Infinity War, following the additions of Danai Gurira's Okoye, leader of the elite bodyguards the Dora Milaj, Winston Duke’s M’Baku, and, of course, Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther.
The actress will make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Shuri in next year's Ryan Coogler-directed Black Panther, which will hit theaters on February 16th, 2018.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie. The film opens May 4, 2018.
