The Avengers are in for a fright when Halloween rolls around. The first details for Avengers Halloween Special #1 were released today, and it sounds like both Iron Man and Captain America will be taking a terrifying trip down memory lane when the issue hits comic book stands.

The issue will see the two Avengers plunged deep into one of Howard Stark’s abandoned warehouses, revealing a terror unlike anything they’ve ever faced. The issue will also include side stories starring the likes of Daredevil, the Punisher and the X-Men.

Horror producers and writers Jen and Sylvia Soska (American Mary, See No Evil 2) will pen a story for the anthology issue along with Jay Baruchel (Goon, This is the End), who will be making his Marvel Comics debut. Gerry Duggan (Despicable Deadpool, Infinity Countdown, Infinity Wars) will also pen tales for the horror-themed issue.

“It’s going to be a horror anthology with five frightful tales full of chills and thrills,” Editor Jake Thomas said in a press release. “The stories will showcase your favorite Marvel heroes through a funhouse mirror of the macabre, twisting their stories into terrifying tales sure to send shivers up your spine! The only thing scarier than reading this issue would be missing it!”

Avengers Halloween Special #1 goes on sale on Oct. 31. The issue is written by Gerry Duggan, The Soska Sisters, Jay Baruchel and Robbie Thompson, among others. Art is provided by Bob Quinn, Eoin Marron and Jonas Scharf, among others. Geoff Shaw illustrates the issue’s cover.
