With the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame seeing Captain America travel back in time to live happily-ever-after with Peggy Carter (after he returned the Infinity Stones, of course), fans have been debating how Cap's journey may have impacted the Marvel Cinematic Universe's timeline. The writers for the film, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, recently projected their perspectives on the many timeline theories.

When asked by Vanity Fair if the star-spangled Avenger currently lives in the MCU's main timeline or an alternative one, Markus commented, "Those are unsatisfied questions. Those are intrigued questions. I’m delighted at people still chewing over this thing. You know," stated the writer, "If [someone says] 'That’s stupid and I don’t like it and I’m talking about it because it was dumb,' that’s one thing. But if it’s, 'I honestly don’t know, and it’s kind of cool to think about,' that’s great."

Following Steve Roger's time-traveling adventure, the hero ended his tenure as Captain America and transitioned the mantle over to fellow Avenger, Sam Wilson (aka Falcon). Wilson will be debuting as the patriotic hero during The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the Disney+ series launching in the fall of 2020.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is now available on Digital HD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD.
