Avengers: Endgame writer Christopher Markus revealed which villain he wants to see the Avengers take on next.

Speaking to CinemaBlend, Markus revealed that he would like to see Earth's Mightiest Heroes battle MODOK in their next outing.

"I always go back to the guy I always want to see on screen, which is MODOK," said Markus. "Also, part of me… it’s hard to say if he was officially destroyed, I wouldn’t mind seeing a third incarnation of Zola. Now in a robotic body. We got him from human to face on screen, I’d like him to get mobile now. I can’t say that’s going to happen, but it’d be fun."

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, MODOK, the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing, was originally a technician named George Tartleton who worked for Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.). After a horrifying accident, his head became mutated, and he required a special hoverchair to move around. He first appeared in Tales of Suspense #93, all the way back in Sep. 1967.

Arnim Zola, on the other hand, has already appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, causing headaches for Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Solider. Toby Jones portrayed the character in both movies, as well as in the MCU TV series Agent Carter.

This is not the first time Markus has expressed interest in seeing MODOK on the big screen. Back in June 2018, the writer made similar comments on Kevin Smith and Marc Bernadin's Fat Man on Batman podcast, although he acknowledged that the villain's look may be an issue.

"I've wanted to put M.O.D.O.K. in, and it's very hard to go 'here's the supporting character the giant head,'" he said. "And then we're going to get on with the story. We just came to him for information. Like you kind of have to design the whole movie around the guy with the giant head."

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is available on Digital HD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD.
