Marvel Studios' latest release, Avengers: Endgame, will be keeping some movie theaters open for 72 hours consecutively when the movie releases later this week.

AMC Theaters announced today that the popular theater chain already has 17 confirmed theaters that will be staying open around the clock beginning Thursday and ending Sunday night. The move comes as the theater chain confirms Endgame has already sold more pre-release tickets than any other film ever, so in order to ensure that as many fans as possible can see the film upon release, these AMCs are choosing to stay open for 72 hours beginning Thursday when preview screenings kick off.

"AMC guests have already purchased more tickets to AVENGERS: ENDGAME than we’ve ever sold in advance of a film's release – and our first shows aren’t until Thursday evening," Elizabeth Frank, EVP Worldwide Programming for AMC, said in a public statement to investors.

The statement went on to say that the AMC programming team is reviewing ticket sales and adding showtimes and extending hours on a theater-by-theater basis.

As of this writing, AMC has already set 17 theaters to open around the clock for Avengers: Endgame. Additionally, AMC will also have 18 additional theaters that will be open around the clock Thursday through Saturday or Friday through Sunday. So, if you were unable to purchase tickets when they first went on sale, possibly due to  ultimately crashing various ticketing websites, you should have a better chance now at seeing Avengers: Endgame opening weekend thanks to AMC.
