Following the release of Avengers: Infinity War last year, video game developer Epic Games launched a limited-time crossover event between Marvel's highly successful film and Fortnite. As a result, the Infinity Gauntlet was added in the arsenal of the battle royale game, which allowed players to temporarily become Thanos.
Now, with the impending release of Avengers: Endgame, Epic has once again teased a crossover between Marvel Studios and Fortnite.
The tease came on Monday when Epic tweeted an image featuring one of the Fortnite avatars carrying Captain America's shield. For the time being, details are scarce, but from the date featured on the tweet, it appears the crossover will begin the day before Endgame's release, April 25. Judging by the art, it stands to reason that Steve Rogers' iconic weapon will be featured in the game this time around.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film opens Friday worldwide.
