Thanos snapped his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War and half the life in the universe instantly dissolved. Now a ragged group of surviving warriors, including Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk works to counteract the Mad Titan’s genocidal action.

Since our heroes couldn’t stop Thanos the first time, what makes them think they can win in a rematch? The answer may be in overwhelming power, thanks to Captain Marvel, or in the tiniest spaces between atoms accessible to Ant-Man. Avengers: Endgame will rewrite the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. When it’s all over, nothing will be the same.

Not much is known about Endgame’s plot, as Marvel has kept it tightly under wraps. This synopsis does outright mention Captain Marvel, who had been notably absent from the majority of official marketing prior to her solo film's release. Her first Endgame appearance was finally revealed during Captain Marvel's mid-credit sequence.

The penultimate line of the synopsis is also notable, as it's the first direct reference to the Marvel Cinematic Universe being rewritten. Though not yet confirmed, time travel has long been rumored to play a major part in the Endgame storyline, based on the Avengers wearing earlier versions of their costumes in both on-set photos and the first Avengers: Endgame trailer. The line may just be marketing jargon, but could also be a definitive reference to time travel in the film.
