With Avengers: Endgame sitting as one of the most eagerly anticipated films of all time, the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is already breaking advance sales records.Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis has revealed that 4,000 screenings have sold out ahead of the film's theatrical release this weekend, adding he has never seen as many screenings added following advance tickets going on sale.RELATED: Black Widow's MCU Role Has Changed in Response to Fans

The upcoming film has already earned $120-140 million domestically from presale tickets online, and is on track to earn $300 million at the domestic box office by the end of its opening weekend.

To keep up with the high demand, several theater chains have announced plans to keep screenings running continuously for 72 hours over the course of this weekend, so expect the number of sold-out screenings to dramatically increase over the next several days.

The film opens Friday worldwide.
