WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for Avengers: Endgame, in theaters now.

Avengers: Endgame has no shortage of recognizable and iconic heroes -- characters like Tony Stark, Captain Marvel, Thor, and Captain America immediately spring to mind. While others like Rocket Raccoon and Nebula take a somewhat secondary role to the original Avengers, there is one hero directors Anthony and Joe Russo believe isn't getting the recognition he (or she) deserves.

“This is the case, the mouse saved the entire universe," Joe Russo told the Chinese website Youth Circle. "It is indeed a big coincidence, so Dr. Strange has only seen this possibility in 14 million deductions. In the other millions of deductions, the mouse did not press the button, and the latter did not happen. In countless futures, there is only one future where the mouse is pressed and the world is saved.”

Now, the obvious choice in an Endgame MVP is the man that started it all -- the genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist rocking the sweet suit of armor, Tony Stark. The unnamed mouse that opened the gate for Scott Lang, however, is definitely pretty far up on the list.

One thing is for sure, there are several Disney executives grinning from ear to ear at the news. Plus, how satisfied must Doctor Strange be to have known that Thanos would essentially be brought down by a little mouse?
