The end of Avengers: Endgame saw Tony Stark/Iron Man using the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe out Thanos and all of the Mad Titan's forces. Among the missing was Guardians of the Galaxy's Gamora, who had been displaced in time. There's some debate as to whether she survived, and directors Joe and Anthony Russo have revealed what will influence her final fate.
When asked if Gamora would be dusted because of Stark's snap, Joe replied, "The argument could be that Tony wished away all the evil. Was she evil or just the enemy? Is she still alive? Who knows, that's a story for another time."
Anthony added,"If Tony wanted to get rid of Thanos and his entire army, was she still part of his army?"
By the end of Endgame, Gamora had seemingly betrayed Thanos, and her fate will likely be addressed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which does not have an official release date following the firing and re-hiring of the writer/director James Gunn.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The re-released version of the film containing bonus post-credits content is now in theaters.
