WARNING: The following contains possible spoilers for Avengers: Endgame, in theaters April 26.

Zoe Saldana has teased Gamora's return in a pair of new Instagram posts during reshoots for the highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame. Moreover, Karen Gillan, who plays Gamora's adoptive sister Nebula, teased on Twitter that she has finished filming as well.

Saldana's first post features a photo in her Gamora makeup with a cat filter and a pair of GIFs. Her second, however, features a time-lapse video involving the long process of removing the alien's green makeup. The video is accompanied by a cryptic caption that reads, "Adios Gamora... for now at least!"

Meanwhile, Gillan's Tweet simply reads, "Washing the blue from under my fingernails one more time. #Endgame."

Gillan's return as Nebula was to be expected by fans. The character was among those who survived Thanos' infamous snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, and she made a brief appearance in the first trailer for Endgame.

On the other hand, there is a lot more to unpack with Saldana's return as Gamora, as well as the caption of her second post. Of course, Gamora met her demise at the hands of Thanos in Infinity War so that the Mad Titan could obtain the Soul Stone, prompting rampant speculation regarding whether or not the character was gone for good.

At this time, it is unclear if a resurrection is in store or if Saldana is simply returning for flashback sequences. In any case, her "goodbye" to the character of Gamora is ominous, to say the very least. Not only is her fate post-Endgame up in the air, but even if she is brought back from the grave, it is unclear when we'll actually see her again.

Despite the project recently being put on hold, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 would still be happening. That said, the question of when, where or how still remains to be answered.

At any rate, it appears that Guardians fans can take solace in knowing two of the franchise's major payers are present and accounted for going into Endgame.
