WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for 2020 Rescue #1 by Dana Schwartz and Jacen Burrows, on sale Wednesday, March 4.

Avengers: Endgame features at least a cameo appearance from every character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Almost every hero got a chance to shine in the spotlight, whether it was during quieter moments or the big throwdown with Thanos' forces near the end of the film. One of the characters that played a major role in Endgame was Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts.

Pepper was revealed to be one of the MCU characters to not be dusted by Thanos in Endgame, and was introduced fairly early in the movie to greet Tony Stark once Captain Marvel returned to Earth with the missing Avenger. The five-year time jump also Tony and Pepper tie the knot and welcome their daughter, Morgan Stark, into their family. While all of these are significant events, fans will were understandably the most excited to see her suit up in Iron Man-esque armor to fight alongside her husband in the big "Avengers Assemble" battle.

Of course, those familiar with the comics know this heroic armored Pepper Potts goes by the codename Rescue. Unlike War Machine, who is a one-man army, Rescue was primarily used to offer aid and assistance during combat missions and scenarios. It's been a couple of years, but Rescue is officially back in a tie-in miniseries for Marvel's Iron Man 2020 event series.

The preview for 2020 Rescue #1 is without any narration of word balloons, but the art by Jacen Burrows gets across the anguish on Pepper's face before she is greeted by Tony Stark's former Head of Security for Stark Unlimited, Bethany Cabe.

We see Pepper looking exasperated at her desk when Bethany walks in. The two then walk down a hallway, where Bethany places her hand over a dial to open a hidden doorway that contains the Rescue armor. Whereas Pepper's previous Rescue armor was silver and red, this new armor is blue and silver. Coincidentally, this is the color scheme Rescue featured in Endgame.

The preview ends with Rescue flying through the skies once again as she passes a cruise ship, heading to parts unknown. However, with this being a tie-in to Iron Man 2020, Rescue may possibly be looking to get involved in the human vs. artificial intelligence war that has broken out in the Marvel Universe.

Tony Stark's brother, Arno Stark, is currently masquerading as Iron Man and heads up the human side of the war, with the "real" Tony Stark leading the Robot Rebellion. We put "real" in quotes because the Tony Stark that has been starring in Tony Stark: Iron Man was revealed to be an A.I. construct of Tony who died during Civil War II.

Pepper will undoubtedly look to side with Tony against Arno, and the reappearance of Rescue may help tip the odds in Tony's favor.

2020 Rescue #1 goes on sale March 4 from Marvel Comics.
