The re-release of Avengers: Endgame has led to a major resurgence at the domestic box office.

According to DeadlineEndgame -- which earned $1.98 million domestically last weekend -- is projected to see a 200% increase as it rakes in $5.9 million, once again rejoining the weekend's top ten highest grossing films. This haul puts Endgame at $841.7 million domestically and more than $2.757 billion globally. As final totals for foreign and domestic markets are not yet available, this number may change.

The re-release puts Endgame on track to defeat James Cameron's Avatar, which sits at $2.787 billion, Endgame only needs to make approximately $30 million to close the gap and become the highest-grossing film ever.

The Endgame re-release features the addition of an introduction, a deleted scene starring Bruce Banner/Hulk, a teaser for Spider-Man: Far From Home, a commemorative poster and a new tribute to Stan Lee.

In terms of the box office more generally, Toy Story 4 will triumph over the box office for the second weekend in a row, taking in $56.3 million for a grand total of approximately $234.5 million domestically. Annabelle Comes Home, the third installment in the horror doll's franchise, will open to $30.5 due to its Wednesday opening. This is lowest opening for any of the Annabelle films, putting the newest Conjuring Universe film on track to be the lowest-grossing of the trilogy.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The re-released version of the film containing bonus post-credits content is now in theaters.
