With the final days until the premiere of Avengers: Endgame quickly ticking down, the film has already outsold Avengers: Infinity War in presales on Fandango, and not by just a little bit. In fact, Fandango reports the movie has sold five times as many tickets as Infinity War in its first seven days of presales.
“I wouldn’t be surprised to see a record amount of fans reporting sick to work or taking the day off on Friday, April 26 because they’ll be attending opening day screenings of ‘Avengers: Endgame,’” Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis said in a statement.
Thousands of showtimes are already sold out in theaters around the country. As a result, Fandango’s exhibition partners are continually posting new showtimes, with some as early as 4:00 and 6:30 a.m. on Friday, April 26. However, despite the sellouts, tickets are still available through the movie’s opening weekend on Fandango.
Endgame now holds the record for Fandango’s best first week and first day of presales, beating out Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau and Bradley Cooper, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Josh Brolin. The film arrives April 26.
