Unsurprisingly, Avengers: Endgame is reportedly the most anticipated film of 2019.
The news comes from Fandango, which surveyed 3,500 movie fans. Those fans indicated that the upcoming sequel to this year's Avengers: Infinity War, which was the most anticipated movie last year, was the film they most wanted to see in the coming year.
In order of their rank on that survey, here are the next most highly anticipated films of 2019: Captain Marvel, Star Wars: Episode IX, Spider-Man: Far from Home, Toy Story 4, Glass, The Lion King, Aladdin, Dumbo and Joker. Many of the movies represented on this list come from Disney or one of its subsidiaries, indicating that the House of Mouse might just be in for another immensely profitable year.
This survey follows the release of the movie's first trailer, That first trailer broke records, becoming most-viewed trailer debut in history. Assuming this anticipation translates into viewers, Endgame will perform exceedingly well at the box office. Currently, long-range forecasts indicate that the film will gross approximately $2 billion. For comparison, Infinity War earned $2.048 billion during its time at the worldwide box office, meaning that estimate might not be too far off.
Avengers: Endgame will arrive on April 26, 2019. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Chadwick Boseman, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L.
