The mini-trailer announcing tickets sales for Avengers: Endgame is the most revealing yet for the hotly anticipated Marvel Studios sequel, depicting the reunion between Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, the heroes' return to space, and the return of Thanos, largely absent from the previous promos.

There's a lot packed into just one minute of new footage, but these three stand out, both in terms of sheer emotion and their importance to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Last Guardians Standing

Rocket and Nebula in Avengers: Endgame

With Thanos' devastating finger-snap in the final act of Avengers: Infinity War, many fan-favorite heroes crumbled to dust. However, no group suffered as much loss as the Guardians of the Galaxy: Following the earlier death of Gamora, Star-Lord, Drax, Mantis and Groot fell victim to the so-called Decimation, leaving only Rocket Raccoon and Nebula.

Infinity War ended with the two characters on opposite sides of the cosmos, but the Endgame trailer depicts a heartbreaking reunion. It's one of the most poignant moments in a promo packed with them.  What's more, it cements Nebula's status among the Guardians of the Galaxy, and may hint at her status in Vol. 3.

Tony and Steve, Reunited ... at the Battle of New York

Tony Stark and Steve Rogers in Avengers: Endgame

The relationship between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers was left fractured by the events of Captain America: Civil War, and fans have waited for the two to reunite ever since. Unfortunately, circumstances kept them apart in Avengers: Infinity War. Now, however, the moment we've waited for has arrived.

After Tony asks if Steve trusts him, the handshake rings of forgiveness and hope. It shows that this is, indeed, the end game, and that Captain America and Iron Man must put their differences aside if there's any hope for the universe, and their friends, to be saved.

What's even more notable is the setting of this scene: Seemingly confirming leaked set photos, Steve and Tony are shown at the Battle of New York, as seen in 2012's The Avengers.

The MCU's Trinity vs. Thanos

Avengers: Endgame

The trailer could have simply shown fans Iron Man and Captain America reunited, and called it a day. However, it went much further than that by showing that Earth's Mightiest Heroes will once again go up against Thanos. Iron Man, in his newest suit, is taking the fight to the Mad Titan, who appears more confident and powerful than ever.

But this time, Tony doesn't face Thanos alone. Now, he's flanked by Thor and Captain America. It's an epic moment that's enough to make fans clap and cheer. However, it also has us greatly worried. After all, Endgame isn't just a finale, it's also likely the end of the line for some of our favorite characters.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau and Bradley Cooper, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Josh Brolin. The film arrives April 26.
