It seems like Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo want more famous Marvel villains to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe just as bad as fans do. With Marvel owning even more characters since its acquisition of Fox assets, it is a great possibility we will see more of these characters joining the MCU.
The Russo brothers sat down with Syfy Wire to discuss Avengers: Endgame. In the midst of this interview, they described the Marvel villains they'd love to have appear in films, saying they'd specifically like to add Doctor Doom or Kraven the Hunter.
"I mean, Kraven, because I love that storyline," said Joe Russo. "I think that Spider-Man, Kraven arc would be pretty amazing to see."
Regarding Doctor Doom, he went onto say: "I just love the sort of Shakespearean mythology behind him as a character."
They also stated their interest in doing a film involving Wolverine or the Fantastic Four.
Written by J. M. DeMatteis, Kraven the Hunter's most famous storyline, Kraven's Last Hunt, was published in 1987. There was news of a solo film for the character last year from Sony Pictures, but a release date has not been announced. Doctor Doom is one of the Fantastic Four's most popular villains, appearing in almost every live-action Fantastic Four film to date.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau and Bradley Cooper, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Josh Brolin. The film arrives April 26.
