First created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1965's Strange Tales #138, the character was first encountered by Doctor Strange as an omnipotent being defending all of the Marvel Multiverse from tampering by fellow cosmic beings including the Celestials.

Given lingering rumors that the Celestials may figure prominently in Endgame and filmmaker Scott Derrickson reportedly signing on to direct a sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange, Eternity's introduction into the MCU is likely just a matter of time.
