Despite the actor's recent disapproval of any Oscar nomination, it would appear Disney has officially submitted Robert Downey Jr. to be considered for Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role as Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame -- effectively walking back its prior decision not to.

Along with Downey, Disney also submitted Endgame's Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Don Cheadle for Best Supporting Actor, as well as Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Saldana, Brie Larson and Karen Gillen for Best Supporting Actress.

News of Downey's inclusion comes shortly after Disney excluded the Marvel star from any of their Oscar considerations. In response, thousands of fans took to Change.org and pushed a petition asking the Academy of Arts and Sciences to officially include Downey as a nominee for Best Actor. Following the uproar, Downey publicly stated that he requested for Disney to not submit him for Oscar consideration.

Find out if Downey or any of his fellow Avengers will be assembling on stage when the 92nd Academy Awards airs on Feb. 9, 2020.
