Ahead of Avengers: Endgame's premiere this week, theaters in China have been ordered to cap service fees.

According to Beijing Youth Daily via South China Morning Post, some Chinese theaters have been selling tickets at up to three times the usual rate, putting them at around 300 yuan or about $45 each.

Chinese authorities have since started telling theaters they can’t add service fees or surcharges that amount to more than 10% of the ticket value. Theaters that do so will be prohibited from screening the film.

One man in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, said he was planning to see the movie this week but decided against it when he saw the ticket prices. “The tickets for the premiere were more than 300 yuan (US$45), but only 100 yuan for the days after,” he said.
