Avengers: Endgame Character Posters Honor the Living & the Fallen

The hype for Avengers: Endgame just got even bigger thanks to the release of a slew of character posters warning of the team's mission to come.

The images, in celebration of one month to go until the film's release, are all themed with the caption, "Avenge The Fallen," with the Avengers symbol used to indicate that Earth's Mightiest Heroes are indeed looking for revenge for what Thanos did in Infinity War.

The poster set includes the heroes who are alive and embarking on this second bout with the Mad Titan in full color: Captain America, Thor, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Black Widow, Bruce Banner,  War Machine, Hawkeye/Ronin, Nebula, Ant-Man, Okoye and Rocket Raccoon. We also see posters for players who are still mysterious to the plot, as they haven't been in trailers so far, such as Pepper Potts, Wong, Valkyrie and Happy Hogan.

Interestingly enough, while Marvel Studios' marketing is trying to fool us into thinking the fallen aren't involved in the film, we also have black and white posters for deceased characters like Spider-Man, Shuri, Bucky, Falcon, Loki, Star-Lord, Groot, Drax, Gamora, Mantis, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Black Panther, Wasp, Nick Fury and Doctor Strange.

The centrepiece, however, is the one for Thanos himself, which doesn't show Josh Brolin's character, but his helmet on the scarecrow stick in the field to which he retreated when he dusted half the galaxy.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau and Bradley Cooper, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Josh Brolin. The film arrives April 26.
