Following the overwhelmingly positive reception to Avengers: Endgame following the film's world premiere yesterday, it was no surprise that the film got off to a heroic start when Rotten Tomatoes first revealed its Tomatometer score. As reviews have continued to roll in for the film, Rotten Tomatoes has now confirmed Avengers: Endgame as being "Certified Fresh."
Rotten Tomatoes announced Avengers: Endgame has achieved the coveted "Certified Fresh" badge in a post on Twitter. "#AvengersEndgame is now #CertifiedFresh at 98% on the #Tomatometer, with 85 reviews," the post read. A few more reviews have rolled in since the tweet was sent, pushing Avengers: Endgame down to 97% with 86 Fresh reviews compared to just 3 Rotten reviews.
Avengers: Endgame is now the 20th of 22 films set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe to attain the "Certified Fresh" badge, with only Thor: The Dark World and The Incredible Hulk failing to reach that status. Endgame is now tied with Black Panther for the top spot as best reviewed film in the MCU, after Black Panther ended its run with a score of 97%.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos.
