Avengers: Endgame has passed James Cameron's Avatar at the domestic box office, placing the Marvel Studios sequel just behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

According to Box Office MojoEndgame has earned $770,805,870 at the North American box office after four weeks of release. The film sits above 2009's Avatar, with $760,507,625, and below 2015's The Force Awakens, with $936,662,225. While Endgame still hasn't eclipsed Avatar's worldwide box-office record, many think it is only a matter of time.

Globally, Endgame has earned $2.6 billion, placing it within reach of Avatar's $2.79 billion. Endgame will likely be in theaters for a bit longer, giving it the chance to pass Avatar. Disney now owns all three top box-office properties, following its acquisition in March of Fox's key assets.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is in theaters now.
