Even before the Avengers: Endgame trailer dropped, fans were already putting together theories as to where the popular MCU series would go, and how it could ever get back after the events that transpired thanks to Thanos' snap at the end of Infinity War. These theories got even more extravagant after the trailer was released, intentionally vague and unrevealing though it was.

Perhaps one of the most compelling theories that existed before the Endgame trailer, but was accentuated because of it, was that Scott Lang, the MCU's current Ant-Man, would use his experience within the Quantum Realm to travel back in time to either save the Avengers from Thanos or undo "The Snappening" altogether.

In the final scene of the trailer -- shot, presumably, at the Avengers compound -- Captain America and Black Widow watch a video relay of the facility's front door, where a visibly excited Scott asks to come in, clearly wanting to reconnect and share some kind of news. However, the time stamp on the "archived" video, as well as the conversation between Cap and Widow, have raised questions as to when it was actually shot.

Is it a recording from the past, proving that Ant-Man somehow travelled there? Is it, as Black Widow seems to suggest, live outside the front door? In either case, what does this mean about when Endgame is actually set? Has there been a time jump, as has been speculated ever since the end of Infinity War? Most importantly of all, what could this possibly mean for The Avengers finally making right their failure to stop Thanos from turning half of all sentient lifeforms in the universe to dust?
