Before the Avengers films, before the MCU, there was a show called The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. For two seasons, the show has consistently given out great episodes and characters all across the Marvel universe to the point that it is arguably definitive for many people. Just as much as DC's animated Justice League is for many DC fans, it's often discussed that this is possibly the best Avengers show even after its cancellation. However, despite its great two seasons, there are still some episodes that are arguably better than the rest.

10 The Man Who Stole Tomorrow (8.5)

Going up against a villain from the future, this is the first appearance of Kang The Conqueror, a time traveler who is related to Reed Richards from the Fantastic Four. Facing off against the Avengers, his goal is to stop them, conquer the planet and kill Captain America specifically in order to save the world from its destruction.

As Captain America is considered an anomaly within the time stream. There is also a fun scene at the beginning of the episode where Captain America comes to blows against Iron Man in a sparring match. Entertaining, to say the least.

9 Along Came A Spider (8.5)

Due to the Skrull Invasion that happened during the prior episodes, Captain America's reputation has gone down the drain. Armed with just his classic triangular shield, Captain America teams up with Spider-Man whose reputation is also in shambles no thanks to J. Jonah Jameson.

Despite the protests from people, the mean spirited work from the Daily Bugle and essentially having the whole world against him. Captain America doesn't falter which truly shows how steadfast and resilient the character truly is and why he resonates with so many people today.

8 Ultron-5 (8.6)

As a result of rogue programming, an Ultron unit goes out of control. This begins the first introduction of Ultron as a villain in the show. The character is as menacing as he was in the comics. Robotic and devoid of human emotional thought, he starts by kidnapping Wasp partly due to its brain being patterned to her husband, Giant-Man. This results in a fight against Ultron who is almost invulnerable to everything that's pulled on it. It is also a notable casualty as it shows the supposed death of Thor.

7 Avengers Assemble (8.6)

The last episode of the entire show, the Avengers face the biggest threat yet in the form of Galactus. A god-like entity who consumes planets. Because this is the last episode in the series, the show writers brought in every single hero available to stop the impending threat. Together with heroes across the two seasons including the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and the heroes for hire. It is a great ensemble that shows everything about what the Avengers truly means to the entire world. Similar to what Avengers Endgame represented years later.

6 Who Do You Trust (8.7)

After learning from Nick Fury that there is a spy within the Avengers team, the group starts to not trust one another. Leading to a drama over which superhero is actually the traitor amongst them. Thanks to the abilities of the Skrulls, who have the ability to shape-shift into anyone as well as having the abilities of anyone, it becomes an intriguing thriller as Iron Man slowly picks up the pieces. Especially as the Kree slowly approaches Earth and the Skrulls proceed to continue their invasion plan.

5 Infiltration (8.7)

As a result of the impending Skrull invasion as well as a myriad of circumstances, a variety of Skrulls end up impersonating the Avengers. Tricking Ms. Marvel into bringing them to Wakanda, they start to terrorize the kingdom of the Black Panther.

Meanwhile, the real Iron Man is approached by the Fantastic Four's Dr. Doom, given a piece of tech that can work in conjunction with Iron Man's detection device. However, all's not well when a Skrull impersonating Mockingbird stops Iron Man from his tracks.

4 New Avengers (8.7)

After the apparent death of the Avengers thanks to the work of Kang The Conqueror, a response function created by Iron Man commences the "New Avengers" directive for replacements in order to continue the good fight. Responded by Spider-Man, Wolverine, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Thing and War Machine. New viewers get to see a new dynamic from characters that only appeared briefly in the show's run. Meanwhile, long time fans are able to see their favorite New Avengers on screen for the first time together.

3 Prisoners Of War (8.8)

Captain America and other prisoners in Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes

Whatever happened to the heroes that were captured and replaced by the Skrulls. Captain America, who had been imprisoned by the Skrulls for what seemed to be months, ends up creating an escape plan for every other prisoner. This includes allies such as the Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four, Mockingbird and the leader of Hydra, Madame Viper. Akin to an escape thriller similar to a variety of prison escape films it is definitely one of the finer episodes in this long-running show. Showing the will power and conviction of Captain America.

2 Secret Invasion (8.8)

During the major climax in the Skrull arc of The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Skrulls have fully invaded Earth and are planning to take it by force. However, the Avengers along with other heroes are attempting to stop this from happening.

1 A Day Unlike Any Other (9.0)
