Marvel Comics provided CBR with an exclusive preview of Avengers #55, by writer Jason Aaron, artist Javier Garron, colorist David Curiel and letterer VC's Cory Petit. In the preview, T'Challa/Black Panther and Kyle Richmond/Nighthawk seemingly decide to go to war against Mephisto.

In our exclusive preview for Avengers #55, Earth's Mightiest Heroes are still reeling from the Multiversal Masters of Evil's attack on their headquarters. At the start of the preview, Nighthawk is driving through the Nevada desert and trying to process just how much of his life was a lie after learning about his origins. Black Panther comes and confronts Nighthawk, asking him just how long he thinks he can continue being a vigilante.

At first, Nighthawk rejects the possibility of teaming up with Black Panther, T'Challa insists, and gives Richmond all of the data he has on Mephisto's activities.

The Richmond version of Nighthawk was created by Roy Thomas and Sal Buscema in 1969's Avengers #69. Nighthawk is generally considered the Marvel Universe's take on Batman and possesses many of the same abilities. Nighthawk has been an important member of such teams as the Defenders and Squadron Supreme of America. The current version of the character was a simulacrum created by Mephisto.
