Ant-Man's powers, on the surface, may just seem like shrinking and growing. While that isn't technically wrong, it doesn't give credit to the range of things that Ant-Man can do with his size manipulation powers. On both page and screen, we've seen Ant-Man do some pretty incredible things as an extension of his abilities.

Most of these alternate uses of his powers typically get overlooked. However, when you circle back around to them you realize just how innovative they were. So, without further ado, let's take a look at ten of the most creative uses of Ant Man's powers.

10 Riding Hawkeye's Arrow

One of the cooler comic book moments that the Marvel Cinematic Universe beautifully brought to life was Scott Lang taking a trip on one of Hawkeye's arrows. Whether it was Lang or Clint Barton's idea, it was still a pretty genius idea that gives fans exactly what they want: the combination of two heroes' powers.

It may not seem like it's an alternate use of Ant-Man's powers, but it does create a new way for him to travel around much faster. As we saw in Captain America: Civil War, it's also an easy way to unexpectedly get Ant-Man from one place to another.

9 Infiltrating Iron Man's Armor

Another way Ant-Man put his powers to use during Captain America: Civil War was attempting to take Iron Man out of the action. In the comics, Ant-Man infiltrating a fellow Avengers body, for whatever purpose, has been done plenty of times.

However, infiltrating Tony Stark's armor to disconnect his weapons and other critical systems was a pretty genius idea. It also makes him riding Hawkeye's arrow in the film that much more brilliant, as it was a way for him to get onto Iron Man completely undetected.

8 Saving Rhodey, Rocket, & Hulk

One of the more creative things Ant-Man has done in the MCU that easily gets overlooked is saving War Machine, Rocket, and the Hulk. Yes, all he did was grow in size, but that was a pretty incredible idea that came to him almost immediately when Rhodey called for help.

It's also one that hadn't been seen before and was fairly unexpected. Ant-Man has used his ability to grow to tremendous size for tons of incredible feats, but few have involved him using that power to grab hold of and save his teammates from some kind of fatal situation.

7 A Fist Of Ants

Ant-Man's connection to his army of ants is, well, pretty obvious. For what it's worth, however, the way he uses that army to his advantage is pretty uniquely cool. Using them to build structures for him is creative in itself, but using them to attack an opponent is even better. It's something readers saw in the 2015 Ant-Man #3 storyline, used against Taskmaster, and overall one of the more creative uses of his insect army.

6 Miniature Laboratory

Although it might not have been done by the current Ant-Man, Hank Pym creating an entire shrunken laboratory during Ant-Man and the Wasp was one of the more creative uses of his particles that has ever been seen.

It was also probably one of the first times that he used an actual remote to control the size of something, as opposed to the buttons of his suits or the throwable disks he created. Pym has an extensive history of shrinking some massive items, like a tank or even some of his giant fellow superheroes, but shrinking an entire building filled with his research is one of the more unique uses of his shrinking abilities.

5 Entering The Cosmic Cube

During the Secret Empire, Ant-Man used his shrinking abilities in another entirely unique way. On both page and screen, he's used that power to shrink into different dimensions and branches of the universe, like the Quantum Realm. In all that, however, he's never done anything like what he did alongside Bucky Barnes.

To save the actual Steve Rogers and stave off the absolute control of Hydra, Ant-Man shrinks himself and Bucky Barnes into the cosmic cube. It was a pretty incredible use of his power and one of the most creative ways he's ever saved the day.

4 Shrinking Mjolnir

It's no secret that Ant-Man's Avengers teammates have had plenty of run-ins with the Pym particles. One of the more bizarre cases of that, and arguably one of the more hilarious as well, is when Thor's Hammer, Mjolnir, was made microscopic by the particles.

It may not seem like that creative of use of his powers, but it was plenty creative in the sense that it proved the Pym particles were capable of shrinking even mystically enchanted items like Mjolnir. It makes you wonder what other magical items Ant-Man is capable of shrinking.

3 Throwable Disks

A fairly unique aspect of the MCU's take on Ant-Man is the inclusion of his throwable, shrinking and growing, disks. Those disks have greatly expanded the capabilities of what Ant-Man can shrink or grow and have proven to be pretty effective both in combat and just in general. Aside from the suit and the technological attachments for his ants, neither Pym or Lang have ever created a piece of equipment like these disks. They're, by far, one of the most creative Ant-Man inventions and another that expands the capabilities of his powers.

2 Curing Teammates

Everyone theorizes that Ant-Man could easily use his shrinking ability to crawl inside the bodies of his opponents and destroy them from within.

Well, on the other hand, those abilities have also helped him cure his teammates before. Way back when he helped cure the Hulk, traveling microscopically into his body, during an earlier run of The Incredible Hulk. It's not a use of his power that he uses often, but it is one that seems like it could come in handy just as easily as it could be used in a deadly manner.

1 Time Travel

Lastly, and going back to the MCU, comes Ant-Man's role in Avengers: Endgame. Time travel via the Quantum Realm became a major concept in the film and none of it would've been possible without the Ant-Man technology and Scott Lang's idea.

While he may have had some help from Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, the concept of time travel in the MCU was a direct product of Scott Lang and Hank Pym's technology. Without them, the Avengers would've never been able to re-retrieve the Infinity Stones and eventually defeat Thanos and his armies. Traveling through time using quantum technology is a fairly unique concept to the MCU and one of the more creative twists put on the Ant-Man tech.
