Ryan Meinerding, Marvel Studios' head of  visual development, has shown off a highly detailed concept art of the Hulk from 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The artwork depicts the Marvel Cinematic Universe's jade giant in the middle of one of his trademark roars. The close-up showcases the fine detail of the Incredible Hulk's features, right down to the wrinkles of his brow, the tightening of his veins, the saliva flying out of his mouth, and the sweat dotting his face.

Meinerding confirmed in his Instagram  post that the illustration was for Age of Ultron, the sequel to 2012's The Avengers.

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Incredible Hulk debuted in 1962 in Marvel's The Incredible Hulk #1. The character has been portrayed many times in live-action, notably by Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno in the 1978 Incredible Hulk TV series, by Eric Bana in director Ang Lee's 2003 film Hulk, Edward Norton in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk, and, most recently, by Mark Ruffalo.

The character had also appeared in numerous cartoons and video games, and is next seen in Marvel's Avengers game, by Square Enix.
