The long-anticipated teaser trailer for Marvel's Avengers 4 may not be quite everything fans have hoped for. That's because the first footage is rumored not to reveal the sequel's title, the topic of months-long speculation.

Theories have ranged from Avengers: End Game to The Last Avenger, with Avengers: Annihilation emerging as perhaps the most persistent. Some fans even searched for the title hidden in a cryptic photo released by directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

However, it now appears that even a trailer won’t end that speculation. Collider Editor-in-Chief Steven Weintraub tweeted that he’s been hearing rumors the first trailer won’t bring speculation about the title to an end. “Want to be clear I not 100% on this," he wrote, "which is why it is a tweet and not a story on Collider."

With the trailer for the film reportedly set to debut on Friday, we may know one way or the other soon enough.

The untitled sequel to Avengers: Infinity War will release on May 3, 2019. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Marvel’s Avengers 4 stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, and Anthony Mackie.
