Eagle-eyed fans may have spotted a major clue from the cryptic set photo from Avengers 4 suggesting Don Cheadle's War Machine could be up for a serious upgrade.

Earlier this week, directors Joe and Anthony Russo released a photo as the eagerly anticipated Marvel Studios sequel continues reshoots in Atlanta. Amid the search for clues to the film's title, Reddit user Lukefairchild spotted a piece of hardware to the side of the set that bears a striking similarity to an object from a scene in the team's upstate New York headquarters in Avengers: Infinity War. Both images hint at a major piece of ordnance for Don Cheadle's War Machine.

First seen in the iconic 2000 video game Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, the proton cannon is a devastating special move used by War Machine to obliterate everything in the line of fire. With the set photo alluding to the hardware's return in the Avengers sequel, Thanos could find himself on the receiving end of the weapon.

Reshoots on the currently untitled fourth Avengers film began at the beginning of the month and is expected to conclude in the fall.
