Avengers 4: Will Paltrow Armor Up for the Marvel Sequel?

Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays Virginia "Pepper" Potts, may have accidentally revealed that she's donning an Iron Man suit in Avengers 4. Paltrow shared two photos, which have since been removed or made private, on her Instagram account. The images show her wearing a checkered motion-capture suit, which may indicate she will have a suit of armor added in post-production.

Since Invincible Iron Man's "World's Most Wanted" storyline, Pepper has used the Rescue armor to become a hero in her own right. However, it's not clear at this time if she will become Rescue in the film.

Paltrow was absent from several high-profile Marvel films following Iron Man 3, with Stark remarking in Captain America: Civil War that the two were "taking a break." However, she did briefly re-appear in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, where Stark proposed to her, and set photos in August confirmed her return for Avengers 4. Following the release of the trailer, a theory that Pepper will die in Infinity War has gained traction.
