Throughout most of Captain America's history in the comic books, he has worn a scaled armor ever since his debut in 1941's Captain America Comics #1 by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. A clean-shaven Evans had previously been seen on set in Atlanta when reshoots began at the beginning of the month in what may be his final appearance as the Star-Spangled Avenger.
