As Avengers 4 continues reshoots in Atlanta, leaked promotional images from the upcoming MCU film show Chris Evans' Captain America wearing a much more comic-accurate outfit.
An updated version of Steve Rogers' uniform in 2016's Captain America: Civil War with new scaled texture and darker hues, the leaked photos are the first real look at Cap suited up for next year's Avengers sequel. The images have been tweeted out by fan news account DC Marvel Unite below:
Throughout most of Captain America's history in the comic books, he has worn a scaled armor ever since his debut in 1941's Captain America Comics #1 by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. While there have been various nods to Cap's visual history throughout his appearances in the MCU, this new look may be the most faithful to the original source material yet.
A clean-shaven Evans had previously been seen on set in Atlanta when reshoots began at the beginning of the month in what may be his final appearance as the Star-Spangled Avenger.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers 4 stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Brie Larson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Evangeline Lilly, and Josh Brolin. The film arrives May 3, 2019.
