A new fan poster for Avengers 4 depicts what the film could look like if Avengers: Annihilation is indeed the title.
The poster was released on Twitter by artist BossLogic, who is known for creating fake movie posters and other fan artwork; his past work includes an Avengers Vs. X-Men movie poster. The latest poster comes after a series of rumors that suggest the title for Avengers 4 is actually Avengers: Annihilation.
BossLogic's poster finds the Avengers in peril against a cosmic backdrop: Captain America falls, his shield out of his hand; Iron Man flies through the stars toward some sort of conflict. Hulk leaps through a shattered asteroid, as Captain Marvel unleashes an energy shield. Thor channels lightning through Stormbreaker. Finally, Rocket and Spider-Man take point in separate places. Different segments of color are used to differentiate each hero's position on the poster.
The rumored title has led some to believe that it will feature Annihilus and the Negative Zone, two entities that played a role in the Annihilation comic event. A recent toy leak teased that the Avengers would be gearing up for a threat "greater than Thanos," which gave more credence to the rumor. However, Marvel has remained tight-lipped on the film.
The untitled sequel to Avengers: Infinity War will release on May 3, 2019. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Marvel’s Avengers 4 stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, and Anthony Mackie.
