Photos recently circulated of Brie Larson preparing for her starring role in Captain Marvel by visiting a U.S. Air Force base and undergoing pilot training. Although none of those depicted the actress in costume, that changed today with leaked images from the Atlanta set of Marvel's Avengers 4.
It's worth noting this isn't Carol Danvers wearing her traditional Captain Marvel costume, but rather what appears to be a Kree military uniform.
As Marvel Studios revealed in July at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Captain Marvel will be set in the 1990s, with Larson's Carol Danvers wearing a costume very similar to the one designed by comic book artist Jamie McKelvie. The primary antagonists will be the shape-shifting alien Skrulls, marking their first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury but, given the time period, the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director won't be wearing his signature eye patch.
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a screenplay by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, DeWanda Wise and Ben Mendelsohn. The film is set to hit theaters on March 6, 2019.=
