WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Avengers #24 by Jason Aaron, Stefano Caselli, Luciano Vecchio, Jason Keith and VC's Cory Petit, on sale Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Thor may be a ladies man, but there is one woman who has caught the Thunder God's eye recently. Jennifer Walters is the resident Hulk on this iteration of The Avengers, and the team's first mission together pitted them against the space gods known as Celestials. During the battle, She-Hulk started to exhibit new power levels, causing her to begin training to keep them under control.
Conveniently, She-Hulk took a break from her training to go on a date with Thor in Avengers #11, Though love didn't seem to be in the air. Nevertheless, they've remained teammates and have fought together against an army of vampires and an invading god army in War of the Realms. A new threat has found its way to the Avengers' doorstep after the team tries to perform an exorcism of Ghost Rider's Charger. Robbie Reyes found himself trapped in Hell with its ruler, Johnny Blaze, while Avengers Mountain was possessed by an evil spirit.
That evil spirit was revealed to belong to Frank Castle, the Cosmic Ghost Rider. Frank has found himself involved in the "Challenge of the Ghost Riders," resulting in a two-on-one handicap match against Thor and She-Hulk in a preview of Avengers #24. Just as Cosmic Ghost Rider appears to gain the upper hand -- by using his actual skull to pummel She-Hulk -- the Avengers teammates regroup to try their hand at a new maneuver dubbed "Thunder Smash."
After She-Hulk angrily grunts out "Thunder Smash!" Thor lets her know it's time they debuted their finishing move. Apparently they've been working on it for a few weeks, but this will be the first time they've tried it in the field. The preview ends before we get to lay our eyes on "Thunder Smash," though She-Hulk's description explains it as "a few bombs' worth of pure Hulk energy with the power of the God of Thunder." Whatever it ends up being, it'll probably be strong enough to knock Cosmic Ghost Rider's head right off his body for a second time.
She-Hulk has proven herself a valuable member of the Avengers. Of course, this isn't the first super-team she's starred on, as she's previously joined the Fantastic Four and A-Force, the all-women version of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The pairing of the Jade Giantess and the God of Thunder should make for an unbeatable pair, though we wouldn't put it past the Cosmic Ghost Rider to find a way to win.
